A Community Briefing on the SETRPC Complex Coordinated Terrorist Attack (CCTA) Grant

OVERVIEW: In July 2017 the South East Texas Regional Planning Commission (SETRPC) was one of five Texas entities awarded a 3-year grant from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Complex Coordinated Terrorist Attack Preparedness (CCTA) in the amount of $1,076,336.

SETRPC partnered with two DHS Centers of Excellence – the University of Houston, who is providing primary grant related support for the project, and the University of Maryland (START), who is conducting research and providing a micro portal site for SETRPC.Great strides in SouthEast Texas Complex Coordinated Terrorist Attack Preparedness have been made in the last year with many more to come in Year 2. The briefing will provide a high- level overview of where we have been and where we are going. There will also be a segment on individual preparedness for citizens and the public is invited to attend.

SETRPC Announces New Executive Director


Shanna Burke - SETRPC Executive Director
The South East Texas Regional Planning Commission (SETRPC) Executive Committee voted unanimously at its November 14, 2018 meeting to appoint Ms. Shanna Burke as the new SETRPC Executive Director, effective immediately.

Ms. Burke was born and raised in Southeast Texas and has lived in all three counties (Hardin, Jefferson and Orange) served by the SETRPC. She is a graduate of Lamar University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and a Masters Degree in Public Administration. In addition, she holds Professional Certifications from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) and
the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).

She began working at the SETRPC in 1997 as a Criminal Justice Planner and has since held various positions within the agency, including Director of Criminal Justice Programs, Director of Public Safety Programs, Director of Disaster Recovery Programs, Director of Human Resources and most recently Interim Executive Director. Ms. Burke has extensive experience working with federal, state and local agencies, officials and grant funded programs.
