Our Mission
The City of Vidor’s Code Enforcement department’s mission is to maintain, protect, and improve the health, safety, and welfare of our citizens and guests.
Responsibilities
The Code Enforcement department’s responsibilities include: executing the duties of the Building Official for residential and commercial construction; serving as Flood Plain Administrator; enforcing applicable city ordinances; issuing of permits for various projects; and supervising electrical, plumbing, and HVAC inspectors.
Our Goals
Our goals include:
1. To make the City of Vidor a safer and cleaner place to live, work, and visit.
2. To work with our citizens and business owners to promote responsible property standards and maintenance.
3. To provide prompt, courteous, and professional service.
4. To educate the public to encourage citizen participation, cooperation, and compliance.
Burn Permits No Longer Required
Burn permits are no longer required, however, a burn ordinance is still in place. Please see the burn guidelines laid out below.
